Techshare India 2008
Breaking the Barriers is the first accessibility conference and exhibition in India. It will showcase the role of technology in the lives of people with disabilities, looking not just at web accessibility but also software accessibility and accessibility on the move for mobiles and PDAs. Techshare India will also highlight the importance of implementing accessibility standards and complying to different accessibility laws.
The keynote speaker will be Shadi Abou–Zahra, World Wide Web Consortium, Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) Activity Lead.
4-5 February 2008 in New Delhi, India.
Techshare 2007
Bigger and better than ever, Techshare evolved into a technology event for all disabilities. The 2007 DAISY International Technical Conference was also held at Techshare. DAISY is the world’s leading standard for digital talking books.
The Techshare expo exhibition was organised by Headstar.

Sue's story - In her 30s, Sue went to A&E after her cat scratched her eye. The doctor advised that she was at risk of contracting glaucoma and should have yearly eye tests once 40. At 50 she was referred to a consultant who diagnosed glaucoma. She has now received successful treatment and her sight has not been affected. Sue's full story.
